Sign Up for Dan Rubright’s Jazz Tune Writing Summer Workshop

Dan Rubright’s Summer Tune Writing Workshop!

Dates:
General Dates: Five sessions overall to span the weeks of:
June 11 and June 18. Each session is 2 hours, (ten hours total).

The exact dates will be decided on participant’s availability.

Location: In the Webster University area, exact location will be determined.

Cost:
$150. per person.

What is the course? We will focus on original jazz tune writing in a positive, fun exploratory way. It will not be a “Here’s how you do it…textbook approach”. There isn’t one! The focus will be about the process, looking at what music really engages us, and setting up a structure for producing and developing ideas. We will play our tunes each session, with the group acting as a partner in the brainstorming and arranging process.

Why take this course? To have fun and learn. If you have a band or someday would like to, then you will probably HAVE to write your own material! If you are interested in a career in music, you will almost certainly need to be able to write good, engaging music for a variety of projects.

One more reason to sign up: To experience the thrill of falling in love with the writing process and to feel the deep satisfaction that will come with your success. Oh and by the way-I guarantee that you will have success at this-no matter what your experience level!
