LITTLE BOSNIA by Cristina Pippa
Avalon is proud to present the world premiere, LITTLE BOSNIA. This ground-breaking play, commissioned by Avalon, is about the St. Louis Bosnian community, one of the largest cultural groups in our city.
The story focuses on Faris, a Bosnian refugee from the age of five, about to graduate from college in St. Louis and start his American dream. As graduation draws near, he learns he must return to Bosnia to reclaim his family’s apartment from a Croat woman. It is not until he sees Bosnia as an adult, after the war, still marked with beauty and injustice – and until he returns to the United States – that he discovers exactly who he is and who he wants to be.
Directed by Producing Artistic Director, Larry Mabrey, with original music by St. Louis composer, Dan Rubright, LITTLE BOSNIA features a blended cast of St. Louis theatre professionals and actors from the St. Louis Bosnian and Former Yugoslavian communities: Saso Cemerski, Jason Contini*, Mirza Halilovic, Theresa Hermann, Anela Islamovic, Elma Mujanovic, and Susie Wall*.
LITTLE BOSNIA is a theatre event not to be missed!
